The Code of Conduct provides guidance to Councillors and Officers to ensure that the highest possible standards are maintained in public life. For instance,there are rules governing disclosure of interest and withdrawal from meetings where members have relevant interests. Additionally, members are required to record on the public register their financial and other interests, if applicable.
The current Model Code of Conduct (see link below) was issued by the Government on 4 April 2007 and the Parish Council is now automatically covered by it.
